Jazz and Hip-hop. Sometimes house is my favorite depending on the season.
What Happens in the booth?
In the booth, you’ll find me vibing to J Dilla or Pete Rock beats, practicing Leo Whitefang combos in Guilty Gear Strive, and brainstorming ways to win a pickleball pro tournament—even though I have no experience in tennis or pickleball. I’m just determined to make it happen.
WHO ARE MY FAVORITE ARTISTS?
In jazz, I’m inspired by Barry Harris, John Coltrane, and Horace Silver. In hip-hop, I admire iconic producers like J Dilla, Pete Rock, Alchemist, 9th Wonder, and Madlib, as well as standout MCs such as Chance the Rapper, Vince Staples, Logic, Tyler the Creator, and Earl Sweatshirt.
I view my social media as a playground for expressing my journey into the advertising industry as a creative dealing with eczema. I started in October 2021 (while a junior in high school) and began posting more seriously in August 2024. This ongoing personal project highlights my fears, ambitions, successes, failures, and—most importantly—who I am as Mikhail Chery.
